While I was lining up all the pictures I took last year, Arlene saw me, “What are you going to do with those pictures?”

I sighed. “I don’t know. They matter to me, but I’m not sure what to do with them.”

The months of September and October have been quite busy for me and a bit stressful as well. My publisher and I have been working with my translator and editor to finish the German edition of my book Ausländer. It’s a project we submitted to the National Book Development Board, which fortunately was approved for a grant.

My son Siggy doesn’t like loud sounds. He’s very sensitive to sudden noises.

A photowalk was organized in Düsseldorf, Germany, to shine a light on children in conflict zones and to raise funds. I am part of the 24Hour Project.
